Decidí hacer una entrada exclusivamente para las preguntas que podrían hacerle a las familias durante la entrevista por Skype o por medio de un correo, esta lista la pueden modificar conforme a sus necesidades y expectativas.
Estas son las preguntas que yo use durante mi primer proceso de match.
1. About the Family
a. How many children do you have?
b. What are their names?
c. How old are they?
d. Tell me about their personalities, how do they get along with each other?
e. What do they like to do? Which are their hobbies?
f. Are they going to day care, preschool or school?
g. Which is the profession of the parents?
h. Do the parents work inside or outside the house?

m. List the family rules and restrictions I should know

2. About the place of residence
a. Name of the city and state
b. Name of nearby cities
c. Is it a big city or a suburb? (suburbio en inglés no tiene una connotación negativa como la puede tener en español)
d. List the important places in the area
e. List your favorite places in the area
f. How is the weather?
3. About my duties and free time
a. Work days
b. What are my work hours?
c. List of my responsabilities for each child
d. How much liberty will you give me in scheduling and choosing activities/homework for the kids?
e. How often would you need me to work extra hours?
f. If you need extra hours, how much are you willing to pay for them?
g. Which will be my free time? How can I use my it?
h. Will there be a curfew
i. Will I have access to the internet? Is there any restriction with it?
j. Can I hang out with you in my free time?
k. Can I practice any sport?
4. Driving and transportation
a. Will I be driving the children?
b. How often/how far?
c. Will I have use of a car in my free time?
d. How will I go to college/university?
e. What kind of transportation do you have access to?
5. About the Au Pair program

Sin embargo gracias a mi experiencia como au pair el primer año, durante mi segundo proceso de match agregue algunas preguntas mas
a. Do I have to cook for the kids?
b. What responsibilities would I have around the house?
c. If you need me to travel to USA during the summer, how would be your schedule during this time of year.
la anterior preguntas es muy importante por que hay muchas familias que prefieren que las au pairs viajes a USA durante el verano por varias razones como: el buen clima, algunos padres no trabajan o trabajan parcialmente durante el verano, pero lo mas importante es que los niños estarán en vacaciones entonces no irán al Colegio o guardería por lo tanto el horario y sus actividades serian diferentes y obviamente esto también te afecta a ti como su au pair.
d. how is the winter in your area, how do you deal with it and do i have to drive the kids during this season?
Manejar en invierno puede ser un poco dificil, especialmente para las niñas que provenimos de países tropicales donde no hay nieve durante el invierno y es importante saber si las familias están dispuestas a enseñarnos a manejar esta situación.
e. Does your family has a handbook? can I read it?
algunas familias ya han tenido muchas Au Pairs en el pasado y para hacer la convivencia mas fácil han escrito un manual para las au pairs, en donde están sus tareas, que esperan de ella, cuales serán sus tareas y muchas otras cosas mas. este manual nos puede dar una idea mas clara de como es la familia y que esperan de nosotras
